The facility is located in Adel, Georgia which "receives its wholesale energy from The Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia" (MEAG). According to MEAG, 69% of delivered energy in 2020 was from emissions-free sources. Nuclear power accounts for 61% and and hydroelectric accounts for 8%. The second-largest energy source in the MEAG portfolio is natural gas which accounts for 24% of total delivered energy in 2020.
In May 2021, BlockFi announced plans to host their new Bitcoin mining operations with Blockstream Mining. In the press release, BlockFi stated the facility in Adel, Georgia has "over 300MW of power capacity available."
